Recent winter weather across our region has significantly impacted blood and platelet collections, putting a serious strain on LifeShare Blood Center’s inventory. Temporary donor center closures and canceled blood drives resulted in fewer donations at a time when hospitals typically experience an increase in patient need. While conditions have improved, the effects on the blood supply are still being felt and help is urgently needed.
