Welcome to Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana!
We strive to be a vibrant community of faith connecting and transforming lives through the love of Christ. We would love for you to be our guest at an upcoming Sunday morning worship service, small group, service opportunity, or event. Please explore all we have to offer and consider making Broadmoor a part of your journey.
Man, October sure flew by, didn’t it? I cannot BELIEVE we are already moving into November! The Youth have just returned from their Fall Retreat last weekend, and we all had a BLAST! Throughout the course of the weekend we did a service project cleaning up Ford Park, then moved over to Pastor Kelly’s house and invoked a “Color War”
Join the fun and honor Veterans. On Sunday, November 11, Broadmoor members will visit and share patriotic music at the Veterans Hospital and the Veterans Home. We plan to be at the VA by 1:15 and at the War Home by 1:45. Children are welcome.
“What are these arrayed in white,
Brighter than the noonday sun?
Foremost of the saints in light,
Nearest the eternal throne?”
A dad was talking a lot with his young son about the death of his grandfather. His understanding of death ranged from “Grandpa’s with God” to “Where is heaven?” to “Heaven must be in outer space.”
He told me that after a month or so, his son came up with the best answer he’d ever heard. They were out on the back porch. His son was poking at some pill bugs, watching them roll up. He told his dad he was “playing God.” Dad said, “Look, you really can’t play God because no human can be God.”
A wonderful opportunity to share your favorite dish AND help our Missions Team raise money! Did you know this is our Missions Team largest fundraiser of the year? All proceeds from this event support all of our Broadmoor UMC missional projects
I cannot BELIEVE we are already into the middle of October! The last few months have totally flown by! Here in Broadmoor’s youth ministry we are in full swing with a few big events behind us, but even more ahead!
Hope for redemption. Hope for renewal. Hope for unity. Hope for eternal life. Hope for a brighter day. We are a people of hope because God sent his son to bring hope to our hopeless world. Each year we remember this eternal hope during the Advent season. Join us on December 2, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary as we present the fourth annual Festival de Noël, Hands of Hope.
In the fall of the year near the traditional harvest time, the church conducts a generosity and service awareness campaign as a reminder and encouragement of your participation in these two important emphases of the church. They are spiritual responses to the outpouring of God’s blessings upon us. Prayerful thought about how God’s generosity has blessed your life will be a motivation to you as consider your gifts and service with the church in 2019.
Worship with us this Sunday morning!
- Traditional Worship @ 8:30 & 11:00 in The Sanctuary. You can also watch our Traditional Services streaming live at 8:30 & 11 am on our Facebook page!
- Contemporary Worship @ 11:00 in Anderson Hall.
