Welcome to Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana!
We strive to be a vibrant community of faith connecting and transforming lives through the love of Christ. We would love for you to be our guest at an upcoming Sunday morning worship service, small group, service opportunity, or event. Please explore all we have to offer and consider making Broadmoor a part of your journey.
I cannot BELIEVE we are already into the middle of October! The last few months have totally flown by! Here in Broadmoor’s youth ministry we are in full swing with a few big events behind us, but even more ahead!
Hope for redemption. Hope for renewal. Hope for unity. Hope for eternal life. Hope for a brighter day. We are a people of hope because God sent his son to bring hope to our hopeless world. Each year we remember this eternal hope during the Advent season. Join us on December 2, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary as we present the fourth annual Festival de Noël, Hands of Hope.
In the fall of the year near the traditional harvest time, the church conducts a generosity and service awareness campaign as a reminder and encouragement of your participation in these two important emphases of the church. They are spiritual responses to the outpouring of God’s blessings upon us. Prayerful thought about how God’s generosity has blessed your life will be a motivation to you as consider your gifts and service with the church in 2019.
We have added 20 new books which can be found on the UMW shelf in the our church library. The binder with report forms and instructions is also on this shelf. Any UMW member interested in participating will need to start a new report form for the calendar year June 2018-May 2019.
We will honor those saints who have gone before us on Sunday, November 4th in all of our worship services. If you have lost a loved one during the past year (since Nov. 1, 2017) and would like for this person to be remembered in the bulletin and in the worship service, please let us know the name of the person(s) to be memorialized,
After both 11:00 services last Sunday, the Church Transformation Process Report was shared with BUMC members. What follows is information about what was shared and what the next steps are.
Wednesday, October 10 – 7:00-8:00 pm in the Parlor
Thursday, October 11 – Noon-1:00 pm in the Parlor
Tuesday, October 16 – 7:00-8:00 pm in the Parlor
Thursday, October 18 – 7:00-8:00 pm in Pearce Hal
Sunday, October 21 – 9:45-10:45 am in the Chapel
In the last VISION you were encouraged to begin an Outpouring Journal to help you remember how generous God has been to you. When we really get it in our mind that all we have is what God has given us, it sets a different tone in our soul when we think about what we are to give back to share in the grace of God.
From the beginning God called us to care for the animals of the world. We will gather together on October 21st at 2 p.m. at the corner of Albany and Anniston Ave. to celebrate the animals in our lives. We invite you to bring your family and friends—human, furry, scaly, feather, or otherwise!
Richard Halverson said, “There’s an intimate correlation between the development of a person’s character and how he or she handles money.”
