A few years back, I swabbed my cheeks and signed up to be a donor when my sorority at LSU in Baton Rouge hosted a bone marrow donor drive. All I really knew about bone marrow was that it is pretty rare for patients to find a match, and that if you are matched it could save a life. I remember thinking about Jim Watts during this time and how amazing it was that a stranger from another country saved his life.

Sunday, September 23rd at 2 p.m. outside on our green grassy knoll. Bring your family and friends - human, furry, scaly, feathery, or otherwise! We will gather together as a community of faith to bless our animals. This brief worship service celebrates God’s love for all creation, reminds us to care for the animals in our lives, and offers a special time when our pastors will bless the pets of our congregation.
Hi everyone! Hard to believe it really is Fall, but the season is changing. Advent and Christmas are right around the corner. If you don’t believe me, visit WalMart.
Couple of things: first, thank you for completing the survey. The whole point of the survey is this: to capture an accurate picture of BUMC. This requires EVERYONE’S voice to be heard. There’s no substitute. This is the last week the survey will be up, so if you haven’t taken it, please go to broadmoorumc.org, click on Quick Links, then click on Congregational Survey. Takes 15 minutes.
I am thankful to get to be part of an amazing missions opportunity right here at Broadmoor UMC. Eleven years ago some faithful people of our community gathered together to bring to the Shreveport area a fair-trade Mission Marketplace. This is an amazing opportunity for people in our church and in our community to support underdeveloped nations fight poverty.

One of the most important acts of generosity as it relates to the family is having a current will. As most of us live in Louisiana, you must have a Louisiana will, to avoid confusion and conflict at your time of death. The will is a legal contract that directs the distribution of your entire estate (anything you own).
New kindergarteners received a special blessing and gift to kick off the new school year. Please be in continued prayer for these kids as they begin their school journey.
