Broadmoor UMC is holding its first Health Month open to the community. Each Friday in October a different health specialist will speak on a topic beneficial to the public. The events will be held in our gym @6pm. 

• Oct. 15 - Mental Health Awareness- Veronica Trahan, licensed counselor - 6pm

Broadmoor UMC has invited licensed counselor Veronica Trahan to give a talk on Mental Health Awareness on Oct. 15, 2021 at 6 pm. All Americans need access to basic mental health tools to cope with their lives during the pandemic. Come learn the importance of mental health and tips to cope from a licensed counselor. 

• Oct. 22 - Spiritual and physical health - Rev. Dr. Carol Twyman - 6pm

This event is also 6pm At Broadmoor UMC.  Does religion have the potential to influence mental or physical health? Join us for a discussion of the faith-health connection, as we look at research and explore our attitudes in these two essential areas of our well-being. 

• Oct. 29 - The Bridge Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group - 6pm

Memory Concerns? You’re not alone. Or are you or someone you know taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer’s and other related dementias? If so, plan on attending a presentation by The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center on Friday, October 29, at 6:00 pm at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. You will learn about education materials and resources available to you, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, local caregiver support groups, and more.
