Rev. Lindy Broderick has served faithfully as a deacon at Broadmoor UMC for several years. She has taught Sunday School, led small groups, and participated in worship. Lindy has accepted an appointment to serve as an interim pastor of three churches in Natchitoches Parish: Oak Grove, Provencal, and Weaver United Methodist Churches.
Deacon Lindy is always telling us to “breathe” and seek peace. She is replacing the pastor who unexpectedly passed away. We are confident that Lindy will help these congregations in crisis to breathe once more and experience the peace of Christ as they grieve the loss of their pastor. While we are saddened she will be leaving our church, we are proud that we have helped shape her ministry, and we are confident she will be a healer and spiritual leader to these churches.
Lindy said, “I want you, the people of Broadmoor, to know that I am not leaving you. I love you! This appointment lasts until Annual Conference in June 2017." What will happen after this is yet to be determined, but Dr. Greg Davis, Broadmoor’s pastor says, “I won’t be surprised if the churches request Lindy remain with them as their pastor. Regardless of what the future holds, I know you join me in wishing Lindy well in this exciting opportunity.”
We will say goodbye to Lindy in both services this Sunday, December 18th, and have a reception in the Fellowship Hall area after the 8:30 service. Before she begins her new appointment January 1st, she will be with us at the 5:00 and 7:00 Christmas Eve services.
Take a moment this Sunday to share with Lindy how much she has meant to our church!
