OUTPOURING – Our response to God’s abundance

From the beginning God has abundantly, miraculously, and generously

outpoured His blessings for all creation. All that we have and all that

we are is a gift from God. So what are we, as professing lovers of

God, called to do?

As the Apostle Paul writes, “And God is able to provide you with

every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of

everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.” ( 2

Corinthians 9:8, NRSV)

According to Paul, what we are to do is generously respond with the

outpouring of our abundance to share the grace of God with all we

meet.

In Psalm 116:12-14, our psalmist writes, “What can I give the LORD

for all the good things he had given to me? I will lift up the cup of

salvation, and I will pray to the LORD. I will give the LORD what I

promised in front of all his people.” (NCV)

In just a few weeks we will all have the opportunity to respond

to God’s call. How will we be a part of HIS ongoing work here at

Broadmoor UMC? You are encouraged to make an Outpouring Journal.

How have you been blessed by God? Fill your journal with all the

wonderful blessings you can name. From the smallest to the largest,

write them all down for three weeks. This simple exercise will help

you discover just how active God is in your life. Use those reflections

to determine how you will give back to the kingdom of God. God

bless and start your Outpouring Journal now!
