Women’s Retreat:  FINDING OUR WAY with Paula D’Arcy| September 13-16 (Wesley Center)
Do you yearn for a deeper relationship with God?  Come and spend time with God on this silent retreat as we look at finding our way as God’s love guides us in the midst of our every day lives.  
Paula is an inspirational speaker, retreat leader, author of 13 books, former psychotherapist and serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, TX.  Cost $350 

Monday Pathways |Led by Laura Vaughan and Callie Hamm| Begins August 27
Grounded in being present to how God is working in our lives, we share our stories, our heartaches and our joys in a safe space.  Monday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 in the Parlor.  

Wednesday Pathways| Led by Mary Virginia Taylor|Begins September 5
Join us as we listen for God’s presence and voice through Lectio divina, a slow, contemplative praying of the scriptures or of various spiritual writings.  Meets on Wednesday evenings from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the library.  

Mom Group (all the support, none of the judgment)| led by Kelie Taylor and Laura Vaughan |Begins on September 5
Being a mom is long days, hard nights, and sweet snuggles. Our schedules are so packed that it’s hard to take a deep breath, let alone make time for ourselves.  If you are running on empty and desperate for a safe place to recharge, join us on Wednesday’s from 9-11 in the Parlor, across from the Sanctuary. Child Care is provided. 

 Disciple Fast Track: Old Testament | Led by Rev. Kelly Berne | Begins August 26th 4-5:30 pm
A twelve week study on the Old Testament from the Disciple Curriculum.  Disciple Bible Studies are designed as an in-depth study of God’s word.  Bride’s Room |Cost is $35.

First Corinthians & Thessalonians: | Led by Dr. Greg Davis |Begins September 11 & 12 6 p.m. Tuesdays or 10 a.m. Wednesdays (Meeting Room) An eight week study of First Corinthians & Thessalonians.  Bride’s Room | Cost is $20

Monday Women’s Bible Study, Job, a Story of Unlikely Joy  by Lisa Harper :  Begins September 17 | 10:00 - 11:30 | Led by Bonnie Daniels.  (7 Weeks)                                                                      How is it possible to hold onto joy in times of sorrow? In this 7-session study by Lisa Harper, discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. Learn to use pain to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and remember God’s providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you.  Bride’s Room | Cost is $20

GriefShare| Led by Bonnie and Tom Daniel |Beginning Sept. 9  from 4-6:00 pm (13 weeks) 
If you have lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you have probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.  This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.  GriefShare meets weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Read and discuss a new book each month with friends.  Chats are facilitated by Nancy Beauvais and are open to all.  This group meets the 4th Thursday of each month from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor.   

Vacation Bible School for Adults 50 +, The Word Made Flesh with Ed Kilbourne: Begins 9/30 Sunday Concert | Oct. 1-3, 9:30 - noon (Anderson Gym) Cost is $45 (Includes 3 lunches)

Ed Kilbourne is a singer, storyteller and folk-theologian.  Join us for a Sunday afternoon concert at 4:00 p.m.   Monday – Wednesday we will begin at 9:30 with a gathering and a social time    followed by gospel storytelling using music, humor and imagination to experience the stories of Jesus and or our own lives in very new and different ways.    We will conclude with a light lunch.

Centering Prayer| Led by Alan Prater| Saturday, October 27, 1:00 – 5:30 p.m. |Room 200
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition which seeks to open us to the presence and action of the Holy Spirit.  Alan Prater, a teacher commissioned by the Contemplative Outreach, will be our presenter.  There will also be three optional weekly follow up sessions.  Cost is $20

Lay Servant School
Friday evening and Saturday, October 26-27 |  Cost $45  
Have you ever wanted to be a more effective church leader, a more confident Sunday School Teacher, or just a better servant for your church?  Broadmoor will host the Shreveport District Lay Servant School, which exists to develop the skills and enhance the spiritual gifts of lay leaders and potential lay leaders in our church.  This training can also prepare a layperson to preach when a pastor is not available in a local church.  Registration forms will be available in the church office.

Max Lucado loves Christmas. The carols and cookies, the decorations and favorite films, the warmth and generosity of the season. But most of all, he loves it because it’s during this time of year that people will wonder and inquire about the baby born in the manger. This little baby became the King on the cross. Christmas proclaims the truth of Easter to come.  Because of Bethlehem features stories both insightful and whimsical. On every page, Max’s words will encourage, captivate and inspire you, but most importantly, they’ll point you towards the One worth celebrating.

Join Suzanne Stabile, co-author of The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery (with Ian Cron), author of The Path Between Us: An Enneagram Journey to Healthy Relationships, and host of the popular podcast, The Enneagram Journey as she discusses the Enneagram and Relationships. Her teaching will include the best of each number, the uniqueness of each personality, the ways one number relates to another, and what each personality would want others to know. Suzanne will teach and answer your questions about the 45 possible combinations in the Enneagram system with her usual insight and humor.  Her colorful examples showcase each number and highlight the challenges of being in relationships with other numbers as well as the balance they can bring each other.
