Russia Missions: How You Can Help

Groups from Broadmoor and throughout Louisiana have been participating in mission trips to Ekaterinburg, Russia since 1991 to lead Vacation Bible School for children, Bible studies for adults, visiting in orphanages, and preparing food baskets for the elderly. The political climate may be different now, but our mission is the same: to reach out to those in need and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our delegation of six will be leaving for Ekaterinburg on June 17th to take materials and supplies for 120 children representing five churches in the Ekaterinburg area. In addition, we will order 100 copies of Max Lucado’s book In The Grip of Grace (Russian translation) to distribute for our adult Bible studies. We will also be preparing food baskets for the elderly members of the congregation that will be distributed after worship on Sunday.

One of the most significant qualities of these ministries is that supporters can know that what they contribute will go directly to the people and the people will know that these contributions came from Louisiana Methodists in the United States. The faces of the children, youth, or adults express the gratitude in their hearts as they receive their book, learn and sing in VBS, or receive a food basket.

Please consider making a contribution to the 2017 Russian Mission to Ekaterinburg, Russia in the following ways:
1. Purchase of Vacation Bible School supplies for 120 children (total cost- $2,500)
2. Purchase copies of Max Lucado’s book In The Grip of Grace (100 copies- $8.00 each)
3. Purchase food items for the elderly of the church ($800)

Please pray for safe travel and support this ministry by placing your checks in the offering plate or drop by the business office. Note "Russia Account" on your check and make payable to Broadmoor United Methodist Church.

Thank you for your support.
