New Insights into Telling the “Old Story” with a Master Storyteller
Dr. James Moore, bestselling author and acclaimed pastor in the United Methodist Church, will be at Broadmoor this week-end to usher in the Season of Lent and our church’s focus on The Heart of The Matter.
Teacher Training: Saturday, February 13
Dr. Moore will lead a teacher training workshop at the church on Saturday, February 13 from 9:00-Noon in Pearce Hall. Teachers with children, youth and adults will enjoy the insights into teaching the Bible and retelling Biblical stories in ways that are relevant and authentic. If you are currently teaching or aspire to teach in a Sunday School, Bible Study, Pathway Group, or small group setting, please make a special effort to attend this gathering. It's not too late to sign up; simply email Laura Vaughan at firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to attend or sign up online here.
Sunday Morning, February 14
Dr. Moore will lead us in worship this Sunday in the 8:30 and 11:00 traditional services, speaking on The Heart of the Matter, inspired by Luke 10:25-28. There will be a book signing at 9:30 in the Fellowship Area, where books will be available for purchase (or bring your own copy!). At 10:00 Dr. Moore will lead a Bible Study in the chapel from his Lenten Study titled Give Up Something Bad for Lent. Look forward to a great first Sunday in Lent as we begin to seek The Heart of the Matter.
Dr. Moore is currently serving as Minister in Residence at Highland Park United Methodist Church.
