Director of Communication

Full-Time Position

Program staff position responsible for handling all internal and external communications and publicity for the church. These duties include writing and/or editing content for all digital and print publications; creating graphics for branding, events, sermons, and promotions; designing brochures, informational pieces and promotional items for church events, campaigns, and specific ministries; and creating a bi-weekly print newsletter and weekly email newsletter. The Director of Communication is also responsible for managing and updating social media sites and the church website, as well as the church’s television announcement system and LED sign. In addition to purchasing and designing any needed advertising (primarily Facebook, newspaper and billboard ads), the director also maintains communication with local news outlets, the Shreveport District Grapevine, and the Louisiana NOW! conference newspaper. The Director of Communication also sends weekly announcements for the Sunday morning Orders of Worship to the Administrative Assistant. In addition, this person takes photos and/or video as needed at church events.

To prepare for Sunday mornings, the Communication Director orchestrates ticket sales for events, contacts Welcome Center volunteers to clearly communicate current and upcoming church activities, and organizes sign-up sheets and pamphlets at the Welcome Center.

The Communication Director is responsible for coordinating volunteers to run sound at Sunday morning traditional services, as well as assisting the volunteers with any questions or needs. The Communication Director oversees the hearing device system, ensuring they are properly charged during the week. The Communication Director is also responsible for running sound (training provided as needed) and/or coordinating volunteers to run sound at weddings, funerals, and special concerts or events that take place in the sanctuary or Pearce Hall.

Education Necessary – Bachelors Degree in related field
