Love Shines Through: Generosity 2017

DO ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN.

Let your love shine through your caring, giving, service and witness.

John Wesley, the founder of the United Methodist Church, left a rich tradition and heritage for what it means, as he said, to be filled with the energy of love for our neighbors. He set up medical clinics, built orphanages, engaged in adult education, offered interest-free loans to the desperately poor, and set for us the Methodist Rule of Conduct: Do all the good you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, As long as you ever can. Our prayer is that these opportunities offered to our Broadmoor family will provide you ways to truly love your neighbor and facilitate access to the good that needs to be done, in a variety of ways, in many places, at any time.

Steps to Participating in a Generous Life:

  1. Pray about where you feel God is calling you to serve and for your response gifts to God’s generosity.

  2. If you do not know your spiritual gifts, you can check out online spiritual gifts surveys designed to identify your gifts, like the one at www.teamministry.com.

  3. Consider your strengths and choose your top areas of service from the options below.

  4. Fill out your online financial pledge card and service pledge cards, or fill out a “Loyalty Card” and return it in worship on Sunday, October 30.

For more information about any of these ministries, please contact Laura Vaughan, Director of Discipleship, in the church office at 861.0586 or laura@broadmoorumc.org.

FINANCIAL GIVING

As Christians, we each are to faithfully live a sacred oath that acknowledges God as the source of our existence and us as the co-creators of God’s universe. Let love shine through your giving in response to God’s gift of LOVE! There are two major avenues for financial giving at Broadmoor UMC: the General Operating Budget and the Faithful Debt Reduction Campaign. We offer several different methods of payment including automatic bank draft and credit card.
