CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRY - "Partners in Living" visits the sick, the homebound or nursing home members, and the hospitalized. Helping to assimilate new members is the ministry of "Shepherd's Club." "Lay Pastoral Care" helps comfort those in crisis. The Family Support Group is for caretakers of long term home care and those hospitalized.

Ongoing projects are the Blood Pressure Checkups and the blood donors drive. Spirit League sports include softball and volleyball. Plans are being made for Senior Aerobics. Other events that are in this area are in cooperation with the Bishop's Initiative for Children. Watch for new events in intergenerational activities.

SOCIAL CONCERNS

This area is in charge of the food drives, the clothing drives, the ice cream social and tutoring at Arthur Circle. This committee encourages members to write to their legislators regarding social issues.

BISHOP'S INITIATIVE

Among others, one project that is in full force is to provide layettes for newborns at LSU Medical Center. 206 layettes have been delivered to LSUMC along with a book and a card from our church. Next year this committee for Children in Need will be recognized as a part of many programs. Look for B.I.F.C.I.N. - Bishop's Initiative for Children in Need.
