Daily Readings-May 19-24

Rev. Mark Martin, Associate Minister

MONDAY, MAY 19TH – Hebrews 11:1-3. If faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen, how is your faith?  Pray that Jesus will reassure you of His presence, even when all that is seen goes against your faith.

TUESDAY, MAY 20TH – Hebrews 11:22-27. What would it be like to live as though you could actually see Jesus with you?  Picture Him in a chair in the room with you and talk to Him as you would a friend.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 21ST – Romans 8:24-25. Remember what it was like when you hoped for the arrival of a long absent family member.  Pray to Jesus of your hope of seeing Him one day.

THURSDAY, MAY 22ND – 1 Corinthians 13:8-13. The Love Chapter of the Bible speaks of “seeing through a mirror dimly.”  Pray that God will increase your faith, hope and love, even though you only see a poor reflection of Him.

FRIDAY, MAY 23RD – 1 Peter 1:3-9.  We love many who we have not seen – a newborn niece, nephew or grandchild living far away.  Praise God for Jesus, who you love, yet have not seen.

SATURDAY, MAY 24TH – John 20:24-31.  Many of us identify with Thomas, who said he could not believe Jesus was alive until he placed his finger in the nail prints.  Pray that the Lord will help you to believe, then you will see Him and evidences of His presence everywhere.
