Church seeking applicants two openings

Broadmoor is now accepting resumes for two staff openings.

    Business Administrator: this position is a 30-hour per week job. CPA credentials are preferred but not required. Duties include general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, contribution records and reporting, budget design, cash flow, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation and presentation. This position also administers the employee benefit plans and handles tax preparation and reporting.

    Communications Director: This full-time position is responsible for handling all internal and external communications and publicity for the church. These duties include writing content and designing brochures, posters, a weekly newsletter, postcards and other print materials. The communications director is also responsible for managing and updating social media sites (Facebook, Twitter) and the church website, www.broadmoorumc.org, as well as the church’s television announcement system (using Powerpoint) and LED sign. In addition to purchasing and designing any needed advertising, the director also writes press releases and maintains communications with local media outlets for newsworthy events at the church, as well as sharing events within the Shreveport District (Grapevine) and Louisiana Conference (La Now! newspaper). The director also covers events at the church, taking photos and/or video as needed.

    A bachelor’s degree in related field (communications, journalism, graphic design) is needed, with desired skills and experience including: graphic design or layout experience, writing and editing, social media, e-mail marketing, website content management, marketing and advertising, photography, video editing, and volunteer management.
